The Learning Centre is seeking community leaders

who are able to exemplify the Learning Centre's

values of inclusion, compassion, education and youth development.

 

In addition, the Learning Centre is looking for individuals

who will bring skills that relate to one of the following:

human resources, marketing, public relations and community awareness,

strategic planning, financial management, tutoring and volunteer assistance.

VOLUNTEERS TO ASSIST

Volunteers are the heart and soul of our success! By volunteering you will fulfil a vital role in improving the lives of our children as well as assisting the wonderful work of the Learning Centre.


You will experience the rewarding satisfaction of helping a child overcome dyslexia.


You will provide a warm, welcoming and nurturing environment for the children, families, tutors and administrative personnel.


You will work in partnership with other volunteers, who have a commitment of about 2-3 hours a week.

Duties will include opening and closing the Learning Centre, reception, welcoming parents and children, security, refreshment services and similar light tasks.

GENERAL GOVERNANCE

In order to provide protection for the volunteers, officers and directors involved in the operation of the Learning Centre, everyone is insured against third party claims for negligence of physical/sexual abuse, as well as for the protection of the assets of the Center; a minimum level of coverage of $2,000,000 has been established.
 

A Code of Conduct is required to be followed by all adults who volunteer at the Learning Centre at all times volunteers are expected to act responsibly and exercise a Duty of Care to the children at the Centre.

NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY

The Learning Centre has a policy of non-discrimination with regard to all persons, regardless of race, colour, creed, religion, national origin, gender, sexual preference, age or disability. The Learning Center endeavours to be in compliance with all requirements of laws and regulations with respect to volunteer participation and the provision of services.
